Logos Olori's journey from Dubai to Nigeria highlights perseverance, friendship, and seizing opportunities in the music industry.
In the ever-evolving landscape of the Nigerian music industry, new stars are born, and dreams are realized. One such remarkable journey is that of Logos Olori, who transitioned from the glittering cityscape of Dubai to the vibrant music scene of Nigeria. His story is a testament to the power of perseverance, friendship, and seizing the right opportunities.
For two years, Logos Olori lived in Dubai, a city renowned for its towering skyscrapers, luxury, and multicultural vibe. However, despite the city's many opportunities, the music industry there proved to be a challenging environment for an up-and-coming artist like Logos. The lack of a conducive platform for his musical aspirations made it difficult for him to pursue his passion.
"Dubai was beautiful and full of potential, but the music scene wasn't as thriving as I needed it to be," Logos reflects. "It was frustrating to have all this music inside me and no way to share it with the world."
Amidst this frustration, Logos received a call that would change the course of his life. His friend Majicstics, already a well-known name in the Nigerian music industry alongside Asake, reached out with encouraging news. "Majicstics and Asake were making big moves back home, and Majicstics called me, saying I should come back. That was the push I needed," Logos recalls.
Motivated by the success of his friends and the promise of a thriving music scene, Logos decided to return to Nigeria with his friend and collaborator, Ragee. The decision was not easy, but it was fueled by a renewed hope and determination to succeed.
Upon returning to Nigeria, Logos reconnected with Majicstics. It wasn't long before an exciting opportunity presented itself. Majicstics informed Logos that he had secured two slots for Davido's upcoming album, "Timeless," and asked if Logos could contribute by writing some songs. This was a golden opportunity that Logos knew he couldn't afford to miss.
"We got to the studio and started working on new tracks," says Logos. "Among the songs we created were 'Unavailable' and 'Picasso.' It was intense but exhilarating. I knew we were onto something special."
Creating music for Davido was one thing, but meeting him in person was another. The moment finally came when they presented their work to the superstar. Davido was impressed with the songs and decided to record them. For Logos, this was a significant moment, one that held the potential to change his career trajectory.
"My friend Ragee kept telling me that this was the opportunity we had been looking for and that I needed to tell Davido about my own music ambitions," Logos explains. "But I was nervous. During our first studio session, I couldn't say a word. The second day, I still couldn't speak up."
With time running out, Ragee sent Logos a message, urging him to speak up before the opportunity slipped away. "If you don't say anything, this opportunity is gone," Ragee warned. These words jolted Logos into action.
"On our last studio session, I finally stood up and said, 'Baba, I dey sing o,'" Logos recounts with a smile. "Davido looked at me, surprised, and asked, 'You're an artist like this?' I replied yes and played my EP for him. He asked why it hadn't been released yet, and I told him I had no platform."
Davido's response was immediate and supportive. "Platform dey, welcome to the family," he said, extending his hand in a gesture of welcome. He called his lawyer on the spot, and by the end of the day, Logos was signed to his label.
Being signed to Davido's DMW (Davido Music Worldwide) label marked the beginning of a new chapter for Logos Olori. It was not just a validation of his talent but also a gateway to numerous opportunities in the music industry.
"Joining the DMW family was like a dream come true," Logos shares. "Davido is one of the biggest names in Nigerian music, and to have his support and guidance means everything. It opened doors I had only dreamed of."
Reflecting on his journey, Logos acknowledges the importance of every step he took. From the frustration of not being able to make music in Dubai to the encouragement from his friends Majicstics and Asake, every experience played a crucial role in shaping his path.
"My time in Dubai taught me resilience and the importance of being in the right environment to nurture one's talents," he says. "Returning to Nigeria was like stepping into a world where my dreams had the space to grow and flourish."
Working with Davido has been an enriching experience for Logos. He describes Davido as not only a talented artist but also a mentor who brings out the best in those around him.
"In the studio, Davido's passion for music and his attention to detail are inspiring," Logos notes. "His ability to collaborate and bring out the best in each track is something I admire and strive to emulate."
With a solid platform now under his feet, Logos's aspirations have only grown. He aims to create music that resonates with audiences both in Nigeria and globally. He is eager to explore different genres, experiment with new sounds, and continue evolving as an artist.
"Most importantly, I want to give back to the community and support other aspiring musicians, just as I was supported," he says. "I believe in the power of music to bring people together and inspire change."
Logos Olori's journey from Dubai to Nigeria is a story of perseverance, friendship, and the transformative power of opportunity. His experience underscores the importance of never giving up on one's dreams and the value of having a strong support system.
As he continues to rise in the music industry, Logos remains grateful for the lessons learned and the people who believed in him. His story is a beacon of hope for aspiring artists everywhere, reminding them that with passion, determination, and the right opportunities, anything is possible.
In the words of Logos Olori, "Dream big, stay focused, and always be ready to seize the moment."
